It’s amazing how fragrance or scents of certain perfumes or colognes changes our lives in ways we never dreamed possible. It’s like it’s an extension of our personality or the mood we are in. Sometimes, it changes our mood or it powerfully evoke memories and emotions.

The other day Edc and I had our usual chat online. It was one of those ‘chatting’ days where we usually just reminisce. One of the topics that came up were about perfumes and scents and how they stimulate our brains with flashback of memories, emotions and moods.

I think some women tend to be drawn toward certain common fragrances. In my case I tend to like perfumes that can go for both(men and women). I like muskier,earthy scents (if i wanna feel sexier, hehe) and citrus,fruity or woody scents(if I wanna feel fresh and clean). I tend to shy away with ‘just’ floral scents. A hint of flowery fragrance with a blend of fruity, musky or woody scent, works fine for me.

Booster by Lacoste…is my all time favorite scent, I know it’s a men’s cologne, but I like wearing it! It has a sharp fruity scent, but it’s still subtle for me. Edc said that Booster reminds him of our ‘apartment days’ during college…it also has the same effect on me! :-)
Burberry of London…ahhh another favorite of mine. If I would choose a perfume that I could wear everyday, this is the one. Emporio Her (She) by Giorgio Armani and Clinique Happy would also fall to this category. Burberry has a sentimental scent for me,coz it reminds me of the day when Kit and I first met. A very special day :-)

It’s sometimes hard being away with close friends and families, even a quick sniff of certain perfumes or if you accidently smell someone with a scent that you can relate with, could trigger your senses and transforms you in a reminscing mood. Like for instance, Burberry Weekend reminds me of Edc. Tommy Girl reminds me of Chelo. Clinique Happy reminds me of Gemma. Romance by Ralph Lauren reminds me of my sister Pam, CK One reminds me of my sister Susan, 360 perfume by Perry Ellis reminds me of my mom,and the list goes on and on.

And talking about coffee with good conversation…I love ‘talks over coffee’ with close friends,this calls for ’solemn rituals’ and non-stop ‘reminiscing’ of the ever-intriguing and exciting lives of the 750 people. Having coffee with friends is also a form of ’stressbuster’ for me and at the same time a ‘natural high’. Nothing beats the combination of coffee and friends,lol.

Oh what a beautiful day, today was. It was sunny, windy and the sky’s clear… With my ‘chinese’ inspired sundress and a pair of strappy black sandals, I went out… let the wind flow through my hair and on my skin and just enjoyed the scent and the ‘feel’ of the fresh and crisp air of spring(I was like the girl on that shampoo commercial,LOL ::kidding::)…ahhh spring is definitely here!
Then I remembered that I have ‘Daisy duties’ today. The Duffys are away again and I’m the only one here to look after their dog. Right now, they’re still out, so i’m constantly taking some time off to what i’m doing(like writing this blog,hehe) just to go down to see if she’s alright. It’s a good thing that i’m in a good mood today(hehe), the good weather definitely helped. I have mentioned Daisy before on my previous blog, she’s an airedale terrier, a big dog!

It’s funny, my mind can come up with good ideas. But when it comes to writing, my mind just goes blank! before i start to write, this head won’t shut up… then after thinking… do i really want to share this with the whole world?

I’m now back from a (short)hiatus…it’s been like…hmm let’s say…five or six days since I have written a blog?hehe…The truth is, I ran out of ideas, plus there’s nothing interesting going on right now with me. So folks, here’s a boring blog for you,hehe.

Warmer at last! Finally, things are warming up…it’s definitely springtime. We experienced ‘April showers’ this afternoon…it was cloudy and nasty out there,but it’s warmer, so that’s a good thing. Right now, I feel sleepy and kinna lazy, this weather we have right now, sucks!
It’s amazing how the weather affects our mood this much…I hope tomorrow will be a pleasant day.

When and why did you start blogging and who got you hooked? And would you say that blogging is very addictive? How many people have you convinced to also start blogging?

MY RESPONSE:
It was one of those days, when I had the urge of writing something ‘personal’ and just wanna share my thoughts. Instead of composing an online journal, I was writing html codes for web designs. Edc, a friend of mine who’s also into blogging, inspired me to start my own blog and it seems like a good idea since I’m always infront of my computer. I officially started blogging on February 25, 2005 on this blog site, Blogger.com. Then after knowing about the Friendster blogs, I decided to give it a try. At first I thought that I won’t get hooked to this thing they called blogging, but i have to eat my words now, coz i’m totally hooked to it, it’s kinna addictive in a way. It’s also a good way of keeping in touch with families and friends. It was not that hard for me to convince other people to start their own blogs. So far, i’ve convinced a couple, hehe…well, more than a couple, i think. You can view some of my friends’ blogs, by clicking the links on the side of this page, it’s under “Blog Breweries”.
